Seed starting is one of the most rewarding parts of gardening — watching a tiny seed become a healthy sprout brings real joy, when it goes well. We will discuss practical ways to start and care for seeds and seedlings before moving them outdoors.

Loyola University film and language professor, Zbigniew Banas, will examine the changing landscape of today’s cinema while focusing on the most significant movies and filmmakers nominated for this year’s 98th Academy Awards.

Enjoy a lively solo cello program by the fireplace, performed by Ellen Frolichstein. Ellen is a Teaching Artist for the Chicago Jazz Philharmonic’s Jazz Academy, a high school chamber ensemble coach, and a private cello instructor.

Instructor Sylvia Taflove will teach 4 lessons on Mah Jongg, a rummy-type card game.  Each session will include supervised play.  First-time attendees from Winnetka/Northfield/Kenilworth only.
