Event Details

The sinking of the Lady Elgin in 1860 is one of the worst disasters in Great Lakes history. The tragedy took place off the town of Port Clinton, Illinois, whose geography is now divided between Highwood and Highland Park. Paul Timm will tell the story and share his personal connection to the tragedy: three of his ancestors were onboard the ship.
