Program Description

Event Details

Art historian Jeff Mishur will discuss the work of trailblazing French sculptor Camille Claudel whose work has at last emerged from the shadow of Auguste Rodin, her famous collaborator, mentor, and romantic partner. Many examples of her work, including The Waltz and The Age of Maturity, and her contributions to large-scale Rodin commissions such as The Burghers of Calais and The Gates of Hell will also be discussed. This lecture relates to an exhibit at the Art Institute of Chicago.
