Program Description

Event Details

Even amongst the many different communities and cultures that make up the rich tapestry that is Mexico, the Huichol people stand out for their vibrant and deeply spiritual artistic tradition. This presentation examines the history and symbolism of Huichol art and the spiritual practices of the Wixárika people that make it all possible. Through detailed beadwork and yarn paintings, Huichol artists express cosmological beliefs and maintain a continuous link to their heritage.
