Event Details
This presentation will examine the ways Frank Lloyd Wright synthesized ideas and images regarding Nature in his architecture. Inspired by both the organic and the inorganic, his interests are evident in Prairie School designs overall and in their details. Wright was motivated by the desire to bring his contemporaries, who were living in a time of industrialization and increasing isolation from the natural world, back in touch with the inspirational and essential truths he saw in the natural world. His vision extended to an examination of the parallel creative forces of evolution in nature and in the development of new solutions in the practice of architecture.
