Event Details
This presentation will explore the raucous culture underlying the early 20th century Cubs, winners of four National League pennants in five years. Their frequent brawling and hard-nose identity reflected everyday life for early 20th century Chicagoans - a time in which city street toughs roamed the streets carrying billy clubs and blackjacks, and vice was so extensive that Chicago was considered the “sin city” of the day.
