Program Description

Event Details

This year, we're set to experience something quite rare: the simultaneous emergence of two broods of periodical cicadas. It's not just their summer serenades or their impressive 13- or 17-year underground sabbaticals that catch our attention; these creatures are also vital players in our ecosystem and natural timekeepers. We'll get to the root of cicada development and their unique ecological role. Why is this dual emergence, a spectacle we haven't seen in over two centuries, such a big deal? Join us to uncover the intriguing story of these periodical cicadas and why this year's event is a can't-miss for observation and study.
