Winnetka Library Space & Safety Enhancements

From May 27–June 13 the Youth Services Department will be closed while we replace the flooring and relocate the service desk.

A temporary play area with limited toys and books will be available in the Lloyd Room. For the full library experience—events, collection browsing, and a larger play area—patrons are encouraged to visit our Northfield location.

Baby Ruth, Milk Duds, Juicy Fruit, Cracker Jack, Milky Way, Tootsie Roll, Lemonheads — whatever your favorite candy may be, chances are it came from Chicago. Join historian Leslie Goddard as she recounts the sweet history of the city that once produced one-third of the nation’s candy. Find out why immigrants played a critical role in confectionery history and discover how Baby Ruth and Milk Duds got their names. It’s delicious fun!
