Aaron Douglas was a central figure of the Harlem Renaissance, developing a unique style that combined influences from African art, Egyptian art, and contemporary Art Deco design to create a distinct African-American modernism. Art historian Jeff Mishur will discuss Douglas and his relationship to the Harlem Renaissance movement during the period between the two world wars.
